Act 2-3 Hamlet Reflection

In act 2 the story of Hamlet has developed much more compared to act 1. After seeing his dead father, Hamlet of course has an antic-disposition, which is to pretend to be a lunatic. When you think about it, it is quite a strange plan to pretend to be crazy, and what does he plan to achieve from it? It could be to put everyone on guard and make them aware of the things that are happening in the castle, and to wonder what might of caused Hamlet’s “lunacy” which will make them question the marriage of Hamlet’s mother and uncle. It could also be to pose as a threat, as shown in the movie which Hamlet scares us with his skull. Its interesting because by pretending to be bonkers Hamlet is actually letting out his own feelings that he had compressed.

The play within a play sequence of Hamlet is, I believe, one of the most important scene in the his tory of plays. The whole idea that Hamlet will use the play to get emotion out of his uncle to see if hes guilty is giving us the idea that that is exactly what plays are for; to get emotion out of us. In Hamlet’s reality he is ….
